（中央社倫敦26日綜合外電報導）根據日本神戶大學所作研究，日本有可能在一個世紀內毀於大規模火山爆發，1億2700萬居民幾乎將全數喪生

英國「每日郵報」報導，神戶大學專家分析了日本火山的噴發模式，並觀察九州島一個大型火山口，這座火山過去12萬年間共噴發過7次。

他們預測，九州萬一再次火山爆發，熔岩將吞噬當地700萬居民，而西風將大量火山灰帶至本州島，毒雲將使當地無法居住，島上1億2000萬居民將「無望」獲得拯救。

鈴木惠子（Keiko Suzuki）及另一名教授推算，未來100年內出現這種毀滅性火山爆發災難的機率約為1%。

儘管機率極低，仍不容忽視，因為1995年時科學家曾估算神戶其後30年內發生大地震機率為1%，結果神戶隨後便發生規模7.2地震，共計造成6400人喪生。(中央社)
