數十名武裝份子於周四稍早，控制了烏克蘭克里米亞地區的議會與地方政府大樓，並在樓頂舉起俄羅斯旗幟。

此一佔據大樓行為，突顯該俄羅斯掌控地區，情況急劇升高。傾向西方的抗議人士於周六罷黜了烏克蘭支持克里姆林宮的領導人，結果卻導致支持俄羅斯的一方發動了佔據大樓行動。

烏克蘭代理內政部長Arsen Avakov在其臉書的網頁上說，烏克蘭軍隊與警方已提高了警戒。

此一佔據大樓行動的前一天，在地方議會大樓外，數千名支持俄羅斯的抗議人士與支持罷黜Viktor Yanukovych總統的克里米亞人，進行了緊張的對峙。

克里米亞部長會議主席Anatoly Mogilev說，這些不明人士約於凌晨04:00 控制了政府大樓。

「儘管我們不知道這些人的身份，但將會與他們展開協商，」他說。「事情在控制之中。這是一個協商的過程。」

他說，這些人沒有傷害任何人，且安全人員已抵達現場。

Mogilev並說，政府的工作已暫時停止，直到事件解決之後。
