針對「王張二次會」引發議論，陸委會主委王郁琦今（17）日表示，出發前就知悉有二次會面，不過當時並沒有設定特定議題，「定位是社交聯誼」，至於茶敘中談及「馬習會」，被外界認為被設局，王郁琦則說「想太多」。

對於媒體指稱王郁琦在「王張二次會」後對於會面內容「失憶」，王郁琦今日上午在接受媒體人周玉蔻廣播節目訪問時表示，茶敘當天陸方希望雙方統一口徑，也提及先不要談到誰先提及馬總統與大陸國家主席習近平的「馬習會」，因此才會決定在隔天返台後一起說明，並不是「失憶」。
