Asustek sees decline in January revenues
Monica Chen, Taipei; Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES [Monday 9 February 2015]
Asustek Computer has announced consolidated revenues of NT$34.97 billion (US$1.1 billion) for January, down 17.6% on month and 0.34% on year. The company pointed out that the results are expected since demand from China still has not yet recovered, while shipments to the US and Western Europe have dropped after year-end holidays.
However, the company still achieved double-digit percentage on-year revenue growths for all its product lines in the Asia Pacific market excluding China.
For the first quarter, market watchers expect Asustek to suffer a sequential drop, but the company will still be able to achieve an on-year growth.
Although Asustek's notebook and tablet shipments will both decline in the first quarter, its smartphone shipments are still expected to achieve a single-digit percentage on-year growth in the quarter.
