先前Sony Mobile曾經透露IFA 2014期間將推出全新智慧穿戴裝置，相關消息表示將可能是第三代SmartWatch 3。不過，此款新品仍將維持使用一般Android平台打造，而非對應智慧穿戴裝置所推出的Android Wear平台，同時外觀也以既有方正設計呈現。

根據消息來源表示，Sony Mobile預計將在IFA 2014期間公布全新智慧穿戴裝置，預期將是第三代SmartWatch 3。不過，作業系統平台仍可能維持使用一般Android，而非特別針對智慧穿戴裝置設計的Android Wear平台，外觀部分也沿用先前方正設計。

但與先前不同，SmartWatch 3將搭載高解析度的穿透反射式LCD螢幕，同時將可獨立運作使用，而無需強制與Android裝置搭配使用，本身可直接透過Wi-Fi網路資源連線下載App擴充。

不過，目前還無法確定SmartWatch 3是否對應SIM卡安裝，但確定將支援無線充電與防水防塵功能。

而Sony Mobile並未對此傳聞予以回應。
