13庸醫查無腦癌　英16歲少女枉死

【國際中心／綜合外電報導】英國一名少女患上罕見腦癌，先後求醫24次看過13位醫生，居然無人發現少女腦內有腫瘤，最終少女錯失醫治時間枉死，終年16歲。

西蒙特斯 (Natasha Simmonds)早於2008年出現頭痛、背痛、嘔吐、四肢麻痺及視力問題，2年後病情急轉直下。少女2012年被醫生診斷患有偏頭痛，期間西蒙特斯及家人曾要求照核磁共振，但院方認為她的病情沒有嚴重到需要照核磁共振，西蒙特斯幾經波折，直至去年11月才獲安排照核磁共振，苦等2個月，才得知自己患上腦癌。腫瘤在她的大腦及脊椎扭成一團，她先後接受2個緊急手術，但最終在發現腦癌8日後、即今年1月24日病逝。

負責醫生表示對事件感到後悔。西蒙特斯的媽媽，指摘英國國民保健服務(NHS)，沒有認真處理愛女的個案。假如女兒一早獲診治，就不用飽受折磨，她又指雖然當局表示會汲取教訓，但都無法令愛女死而復生，為此感到憤怒及失望。
