【大紀元2013年10月06日訊】（大紀元記者任凱文編譯報導）華盛頓總統1789年建立的第一個感恩節公告將在紐約拍賣。

據《明星論壇報》（Star Tribune）報導，該文件將於11月14日在佳士得拍賣行拍賣。拍賣行表示，這是美國國會圖書館唯一的另一副本。

這份確定1789年11月26日星期四為第一個感恩節日的公告，估計出售價在800萬美元到1,200萬美元之間。它將由美一位國私人收藏家出售。

華盛頓在曼哈頓聖保羅教堂做禱告時把這一天定為感恩日。

1863年，林肯總統把每年11月的第四個星期四定為永久性的全國假日。1939年，羅斯福總統把感恩節挪到11月的第三個星期四。兩年後，美國國會通過一項決議，把11月的第四個星期四定為感恩節。

華盛頓總統在其公告中說：「美國國會兩院通過其聯合委員會要我推荐一天為公眾感恩和祈禱日。因此，我建議並確定11月26天星期四是全美國人的禱告日。」
