男捍衛「鴨權」　寧每天罰1萬2

【綜合報導】美國匹茲堡一名男子基斯勒(Jim Kistler)表示，日前他接獲政府命令，要求他必須將他所飼養的4隻鴨子撤離住宅區，否則將每天開罰500美元(約新台幣15000元)。基斯勒為了捍衛「鴨權」，決定先繳交400美元(約新台幣12000元)罰金。

據了解，當地法律規定，多種家禽家畜甚至是爬蟲類，都不能被養在住宅區內，包括鴨子在內，貓和狗則不在限制範圍內。基斯勒說：「我的4隻寶貝鴨是寵物，我我都有好好照料牠們，也把牠們放在特殊環境眷養，讓牠們不會製造噪音。」

基斯勒還說，他不會把鴨子煮來吃，鴨子們也不會下蛋，因此沒有製造環境汙染或侵害動物權的問題，他不懂政府為何要強制將他的寵物驅離社區。該案將在本月稍晚舉辦公聽會，屆時就會決定鴨鴨們何去何從。
