黃韻玲取代楊千霈，和黃品源主持華視《我們的那首歌》，他對於搭檔換人，鬱卒道：「很不捨，從少女換到歐巴桑。」其實兩人私交近30年，黃韻玲是他伯樂，他笑說：「要不是他收留我作品，我還是一隻外面的流浪狗。」

兩人首次見面時，黃品源才17歲，燙了一頭捲髮，穿著打扮台味重，讓她第一印象感覺像小流氓，起初不太想搭理，直到聽見他創作曲《你怎麼捨得我難過》DEMO，吉他旋律讓她全身起雞皮疙瘩，還立刻把門關上，問他有無讓別人聽過，就怕被其他製作人搶先一步，黃品源笑說：「我還以為她要對我幹嘛！」

黃品源坦言當時出片差點喊卡，「公司說你的歌還滿好的，但你的外型不好，問要不要把歌賣給周華健。」經過激烈討論，大夥同意賭一把，最後唱片順利發行，黃韻玲帶著他上遍節目宣傳和校園巡演，兩人似建立起革命情感，累積30年情誼首度合作主持，雙方都很有信心。
