打倒外來種 餉潭國小申請理念學校

〔自由時報記者邱芷柔／新埤報導〕擁有豐富生態的餉潭國小，學校近來以入侵校園的「艾利恩（Alien）」外來種為題，把被視為綠癌的小花蔓澤蘭製成植物染料，並帶領學生研究亞洲錦蛙等物種，校長林秀英表示，學校將以「生物多樣性特色」申請為理念學校。

林秀英指出，餉潭國小目前有八十九位學生，幾乎全來自單親、隔代教養及新移民配偶家庭，不僅人口外移嚴重，留在餉潭的家庭也幾乎都是中低收入戶，但窮鄉僻壤卻成了學校的轉機，豐富的生態環境少了人為破壞，沒有農藥、工業、噪音等都市化的汙染，讓校園成了大自然教室。

餉潭國小不僅把學生組成「貓頭鷹小隊」發表領角鴞繪本，校方更帶領學生研究社區中的外來物種，從危機中找轉機，但偏鄉學校資源普遍缺乏，校方除了自籌經費，更希望透過成為理念學校，獲得更多補助。

教育處學管科科長楊英雪指出，餉潭國小的生態資源相當寶貴，明年提出申請後，將由專業評委進行審查，通過審查後，將能增設兩名教師，並有更多經費及資源能幫助發展校園特色。
