【大紀元2013年10月29日訊】 根據CTV獲得的法庭文件，10月10日在新西敏市中心發生的一場大火，警方認為是人為疏忽造成，並提出指控。
　　
法庭文件顯示，新西敏警方提出了「因疏忽導致縱火」的指控。依照刑法，責任人可被判處5年徒刑。
　　
火災發生後的兩週，當局尚未公布原因，調查人員通過錄像視頻和證人來推斷火災原因。
　　
文件指出，該商業樓應僱傭專人負責防止或控制火勢的蔓延或爆炸發生，在管理上明顯地偏離了安全標準，為此警方提出指控。
　　
10月10日凌晨，新西敏市一處古蹟發生大火，並引發樓頂的丙烷罐爆炸，半個街區內的數間店舖被焚燬，其中最初起火的建築物 E.L. Lewis 是一間具有90年歷史的家庭鞋舖，後轉租經營婚紗店、餐廳等。還有幾家商店受到煙熏。
　　
市長懷特（Wayne Wright）表示，如果是人為疏忽導致的火災，應該有人被追究責任。◇
