很有趣的, 之前也跟 QNap 客服詢問過為何不加入 firewall 的功能? 客服的回答也類似如此.

樓主需要的是 GeoIP, 這個功能比較特殊, 在 synology nas 有提供, 但 QNap NAS 因為無法設 firewall rule, 自然無法做到,

那麼回到主題, NAS 什麼情況下要動用到 firewall rule? 之前有網友提到校園的應用, 它的 NAS 就是需要限制某些網段的人才能存取, 當然 NAS 本身已經有帳密限制存取了, 但更安全的做法是在 firewall rule 裡面去做限制特定的網段才能存取.

亦或者公司原本就是多網段或是跨 VPN, 當然 firewall rule 可以在 router 上面設 ACL, 但如果在 NAS 上面直接做, 實務上有時候還真的必須如此, 那麼現在的解決方案, 可能就是要在 QNap NAS 前面加一台 firewall 進來.
