菲律賓拳王Manny Pacquiao告訴《Manila Standard》，自己跟美國拳王Floyd Mayweather Jr.的拳賽，戰期很有可能在這個月之內敲定。

Manny Pacquiao擁有8條拳王金腰帶，為世界第一人，也是唯一一人，奪金量級分佈在四個不同量級，此成就也是世間絕無僅有。Manny的成就及傳奇故事讓他在菲律賓是神一般的存在，連菲律賓總統都承認自己影響力不及Manny。

據統計，Manny的拳賽時間正負3小時內的犯罪率是零，甚至在與墨西哥拳王Marquez的大戰期間，菲律賓軍方與反政府軍約定停戰7小時。

Floyd Mayweather Jr.擁有5條冠軍腰帶，生涯收入超過足壇兩大球星C羅、Messi，為目前世界上收入第一名的運動員，時常在社群網站上公開炫富，不過他的確有他的本事在，經常整場拳賽打完，臉上乾乾淨淨一個傷都沒有，贏得「漂亮男孩」稱號。

「我認為這場戰鬥就快來臨。」Manny在電話中告訴《Manila Standard》。「有可能是在5月2日，這是Mayweather想要的日期。」

Mayweather的電視合約主《Showtime Networks》與Manny的電視合約主《HBO》也是競爭對手，預計兩家將遵照Mike Tyson、Lennox Lewis拳王大戰的共同轉播模式。

Manny的拳賽經紀人Bob Arum則回應：「目前我不能談論這個。」
