牛津辭典更新　舊詞添新意

英國權威字典《牛津英語辭典》最近公佈了一批新字和新解法。 詞典將傳統用作描述船隻的「ship」一詞，加入了「撮合某人和某人」的新意思，估計是「關係」(relationship)一詞的縮寫。 詞典還以大熱電視劇《大偵探福爾摩斯》創作例句，「I will always ship Sherlock and Molly」(我想讓福爾摩斯和茉莉成為一對)。

舊詞新意還包括「thing」(東西或事情)可以用作描述一件令人震驚的事，「crazy」可用作加強形容詞的語氣，例如「crazy busy」(忙到癲)。

其它新字包括「perf」，是「表現」(performance)的縮寫；「bikeable」形容能夠安全地騎單車的人；「Cryptocurrency」意味比特幣；「Omakase」源自日語，指讓廚師決定菜式，亦有讓他人作決定的意思；「Sportive」意味一群人在指定路線上騎單車；「Snacky」指輕食，還有比較級的「Snackier」和 「Snackiest」；「White Pizza」指沒有加番茄醬的披薩等等。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
