被譽為香港10年來最恐怖鬼片的《鬼夜》，日前在香港上映開出近3200萬台幣的亮麗票房，電影中更重現香港傳統「打小人」習俗，怪異恐怖的傳說不斷，而台灣發行商也特邀香港正宗「小人婆」趙燕笑來台為電影造勢。
「打小人」是流行於香港、廣東珠三角一帶的民間巫術儀式，是用來驅逐、報復所謂的「小人」，委託人指定「小人婆」利用裁成人型的紙寫上「小人」的名字，再利用鞋子毆打紙人，一般會在陰暗的地方進行，如橋底，香港銅鑼灣及灣仔之間的鵝頸橋是「打小人」的熱門地點。

現年61歲的趙燕笑，「打小人」的資歷達30年，這回來台是生平首度出國，她笑說在香港有許多台灣客指名要她打小人。被問到當初為何會從事這一行？趙婆婆說，她本來是一名農夫，某天耕種時神明突然呼召她，問她是否願意替人「消災解厄」？她認為這是神明的旨意不可違背，因此答應。
昨下午她也受邀參與「命運好好玩」節目錄影，更拿出包括小人紙、舊鞋、磚塊、黃老虎紙、觀音像、香、米、香爐、化寶盆等打小人需要的各式物品，當場示範如何打小人。
