打不過當地人，HSBC財富管理、零售銀行撤出南韓

英國匯豐控股公司(HSBC)週五宣布，將自南韓撤走零售銀行與財富管理業務，為該公司整頓績效不彰業務之最新動作。

華爾濟日報報導，匯豐自1984年就開始在南韓布局，不過零售、企業與投資銀行等三大部門今年首季淨利由去年的1.63億美元大幅衰退至3,730萬美元。由於零售銀行事業在南韓一直處於挨打的局面，因此去年HSBC曾計畫將該部門轉賣給南韓開發銀行(KDB，但這樁交易後來因KDB拒絕承接此部門所有員工而不了了之。

HSBC發言人表示，結束上述業務將連帶刪減230個工作機會，至於獲利較好的投資銀行部門將會繼續經營下去。HSBC投資銀行營收排名今年在南韓位居第16名。

為適應日益艱困的經營環境，並增加股東報酬率，HSBC今年五月就已宣告全球將裁員1.4萬人，估計每年將可省下30億美元的成本支出。
