末代東亞運去年在天津落幕並轉型為東亞青運，台中市今天在北京代表台灣申辦2019年首屆東亞青年運動會成功，又有國際綜合運動賽會在台灣登場，讓世界看見台灣。

中華奧會、教育部體育署和台中市組成的東亞青年運動會申辦團昨天前往北京參加第32屆東亞運動總會（EAGA）理事會議，以「East Asia：Young & Green」為主題爭取首屆東亞青年運動會在台中舉行。

東亞青運前身是東亞運，1993年創辦於上海，會員有中國大陸、香港、澳門、蒙古、日本、南韓、北韓及中華台北等，關島則是不具投票權的觀察會員。

台中市今天在EAGA理事會議中簡報、被提問，最後投票通過擊敗蒙古烏蘭巴托取得首屆東亞青運承辦權，申辦團成員莫不歡欣鼓舞。

申辦團成員除了台中市副市長蔡炳坤、中華奧會主席林鴻道、秘書長陳國儀、體育署主秘林哲宏外，並邀請2014年南京青奧拳擊女將陳念琴和跆拳道好手黃鈺仁前往，增添青年元素，爭取其他會員國的認同與支持。

台中市成功申辦2019年首屆東亞青運後，也是2009年台北聽奧、2009高雄世運以及2017年台北世大運後，台灣的城市再次獲得國際體壇肯定。

體育署表示，東亞青運為亞洲奧林匹克理事會承認的運動會，具特殊意義、值得喝采，將盡力協助台中市辦理各項賽會籌備工作。(中央社)
