美國佛羅里達州北部的沃爾達小鎮素以『速度陷阱』聞名全國。據悉，一小段貫穿沃爾達小鎮的高速公路竟要求司機加速和減速六次。近日，沃爾達鎮陷入『限速只為收錢』的醜聞。

環球網據美聯社報導，據悉，『充滿陷阱的』沃爾達鎮被指控透過刁難司機來獲取利益，頓時引起全民憤慨。據了解，警察局長邁克‧薩博(Mike Szabo)曾要求警察們每隔12小時必須開出12張罰單，否則後果自負。事實上，罰單配額已經觸犯了佛羅里達州的法律條例。

據《蓋恩斯維爾太陽報》報導，在2013年，沃爾達鎮的7名警察就曾開出11603張交通罰單，數量之高令人咋舌。而該鎮2013年的預算顯示，大約有100萬美元(約合台幣2958萬元)的收入來自交通罰款。

雖然當地部分居民表示限速非常合理。但明顯沃爾達鎮只是利用限速來提高政府收入，而不是為了保障交通安全。目前，該地區的兩個警察局長已被停職，州政府正集中力量調查當地政府和警察局可能存在的不當行為。
