開賽第12分鐘，戈策(Mario Gotze)在禁區內被葡萄牙的J.佩雷拉Joao Pereira拉手犯規，不但吞下黃牌，還讓德國獲得12碼罰球機會，由穆勒操刀，瞄準球門左下角順利破網，取得1比0領先。
