蕭萬長：不重視TPP 將後悔莫及

前副總統蕭萬長今天參加對外關係協會的開幕典禮，致詞中，蕭萬長再提跨太平洋夥伴協議 (TPP)的重要性。蕭萬長說，TPP是很重要的議題，若大家不重視，當2015年結果出來時(2015年預定達成會員國零關稅的目標)，我國經濟會陷入比現在更困難的局面，到那時候，「我們真的是會後悔都來不及」。

同時也擔任對外關係協會名譽會長的蕭萬長指出，目前TPP有12國加入，以貿易額來看，會員國已佔我國貿易額40%，若無法加入，將對我國產生影響。蕭萬長說，他看報紙說南韓也要加入，「我更急了」，因為現在南韓簽訂FTA的效果已經出現，出口成長20%，關稅減免上已看出競爭消長。從這個角度來看，對外關係協會所要做的對外工作太多了。

被稱為「經濟老兵」，蕭萬長一致詞就分享了超過20分鐘的心得，還自嘲話講太多，但他也笑稱「名譽會長的好處就是這樣，可以不負責任」。
