海燕風災 菲死亡人數破5千

菲律賓政府今天(23日)表示，海燕颱風造成的死亡人數已經突破5千，雖然重建工作已經積極進行，但預料未來死亡人數還會繼續增加。

菲律賓內政部長羅哈斯(Mar Roxas)表示，目前已知在雷伊泰島(Leyte)、薩馬島(Samar)和維沙雅區(Visayas)的附近島嶼，至少有4,919人喪生。而菲國民防首長羅薩里歐(Eduardo del Rosario)也表示，在菲律賓中部和南部其它地區，也有290人死亡。另外仍有1,611人下落不明。

羅哈斯說，海燕颱風在菲律賓造成令人傷痛的紀錄，但他強調，最壞的部份已經過去了。

羅哈斯表示，菲律賓已經克服了最困難的部份。他形容，「起初我們是在急診室、現在已經轉到加護病房．．．雖然仍危急，但已經穩定下來。」

羅哈斯指出，受創最嚴重的雷伊泰省首府獨魯萬市(Tacloban)有1,725人死亡。他預料這還不是最終的數字。

羅哈斯說，大部份罹難者身份無法確認，因此已經被集體埋葬在大型墳墓。
