孟加拉成衣工廠大火倒塌案發生至今，強化工安的行動逐漸出現進展。北美零售和服飾業者22日表示，孟加拉合作工廠已有半數以上接受了消防和建築安全檢查，業者擬聘請專家審查安檢結果；若未達標準，將再次檢驗。

華爾街日報和路透社報導，沃爾瑪(WalMart)和Gap等北美業者聯合成立的「孟加拉工人安全聯盟」，上週公佈了620多家孟加拉外包廠商名稱，強調若工廠未遵守工安標準，創造安全的工作環境，將無法取得美國業者訂單。

孟加拉是全球第二大成衣出口國，有360萬成衣工人。4月底，孟加拉爆發服飾業史上最嚴重的慘案、有1,129人喪生，工安問題引發廣泛重視。

事發之後，以歐洲業者為主的另一聯盟，簽訂了具有法律效力的協定，將付款提升工廠工安。北美業者不願簽約，另組集團，僅提供低利貸款協助業者改善建築和消防安全。
