根據日本內閣府12日公佈的統計數據顯示，2013年7月份日本經季節性因素調整後的民間核心機械訂單金額(不含船舶、電力)自前月的7,774億日圓微幅下滑至7,772億日圓(較去年同月相比為成長6.5%)，連續第2個月呈現下滑，遠遜於Thomson Reuters事前所作調查月增2.4%的預估值。

其中，7月份日本製造業核心機械訂單金額較前月成長4.8%(年減2.0%)至3,187億日圓，連續第3個月呈現增長；非製造業(不含船舶、電力)核心機械訂單金額自前月的4,623億日圓微增至4,624億日圓(較去年同月相比大增13.0%)，3個月來第2度呈現增長。前月時上述兩項金額分別月增2.4%、月減17.5%。

機械訂單為日本280家機械廠商所接獲的生產設備用機械訂單金額的統計值，所接獲的機械訂單預計於6個月後出貨，故被視為日本廠商設備投資的先行指標。
