【綜合報導】美國食品暨藥物管理局（FDA）11日表示，已同意醫師使用肉毒桿菌注射來消除魚尾紋。
 
愛力根公司（Allergan）的「肉毒桿菌化妝品系列」（Botox Cosmetic）將成為第一種獲准用來消除魚尾紋的注射劑。愛力根公司先前的人體實驗已針對833名成人進行，發現注射肉毒桿菌者的魚尾紋比使用安慰劑者的變得比較不明顯。原理是肉毒桿菌可截斷神經與肌肉的連結（connection），暫時癱瘓眼部附近肌肉，使魚尾紋不明顯，但副作用為眼皮周圍腫脹。
