房貸升息風吹走房市人氣，傳美銀擬裁員2100人

彭博社報導，有鑑於利率上揚、申請房貸與再融資業務量減少，美銀擬裁員2,100人，並關閉16個房貸營運據點。該公司發言人Terry Francisco回應說，相關計畫只是公司在組織、人力精簡所做的努力，以回應市場現況。

美銀年中員工總數約為25.7萬人。知情人士指出，裁員計畫預計在10月31日完成，裁員名單包含1,500名房貸業務處理人員，400名位於克里芙蘭的客服中心職員，以及200名處理房貸預期未繳的辦事員。

除了美銀外，隨著這波30年固定型房貸利率由5月的3.35%彈升至4.57%，因業務量下滑而被迫裁員的銀行還有，富國銀行擬裁2,300人，摩根大通擬裁1.5萬人。
