醫療新技術　人工萬能細胞登場

【綜合報導】日本理化研究所及先端醫療中心醫院將會在8月1日，進行全球首宗使用人工萬能細胞(iPS)的臨床研究治療。

治療項目負責人表示，這次的治療項目將選擇罹患「滲出型老人黄斑病變」的病人皮膚組織來製作iPS細胞，治療眼疾，通常罹患此症的病人嚴重者將導致失明。

日本政府刻正積極推動iPS細胞治療，京都大學的研究小組也將在今秋挑戰製造人造耳朵的尖端技術，日政府希望將這項技術發展成為領先世界的新興產業。
