環法邁入第19站賽段，阿爾卑斯山的考驗仍未結束，葡萄牙車手Rui Costa從追趕領先集團的團體中殺出，一舉奪下單站冠軍。
第19站賽段起點為 Bourg-d'Oisans，是常設的環法賽段，不但道路經過整修，還提供租車服務，讓車手挑戰自己的能耐，終點為滑雪勝地Le Grand-Bornand，全長204.5公里。
此站擁有5個登山點，包括HC級爬坡，Pierre Rolland一連搶下第三與第四個登山點，不過最後一處登山點，追趕第一集團逐漸逼近，Costa就在其中。
加上此時正下著雨，在最後漫長又濕滑的13公里處，不再有車手做出攻擊，Costa在爬坡段甩開Rolland，最後以5小時59分01秒衝線，拿下個人第二個單站冠軍。
賽後Costa表示：「有很多葡萄牙車迷都支持我拿下這個比賽，我要感謝他們。」
Chris Froome仍為黃衫持有人，被程咬金擊退的Rolland拿下敢鬥賞，第20站仍在阿爾卑斯山境內，21站就是環法終點香榭大道。
