菲律賓政府承認日前在天主教教宗「方濟各」到訪期間，將首都「馬尼拉」數百無家可歸的流浪漢遷移到郊外，現在國會議員要求調查。

菲律賓社會部長「索利曼」這星期接受訪問時說，在教宗這個月15 號到訪前一天，當局將大約500名街友轉移到郊區「馬尼拉灣」的豪華度假村中，當地一個房間住宿一晚要價數百元美金，直到教宗這星期一離開後，當局才將這些街友送回「馬尼拉」。「索利曼」強調，這樣做是為了保護街友免遭人群及犯罪組織的騷擾。

不過，有報導指出，有些流浪兒童遭警方包圍，並被強行關在拘留中心，但政府否認。現在國會眾議員譴責這項遷移行動，要求調查。
