大聯盟結束今年的規則五選秀，沒有出現「第二個王維中」，大聯盟階段最低層級被挑中的球員為1A。

2013年的冬季會議，王維中在大聯盟階段的規則五選秀被釀酒人挑走，創造史上第1位新人聯盟直升的紀錄。

今年大聯盟階段規則五結果依序如下，響尾蛇Oscar Hernandez(1A)、落磯Mark Canha(3A)、遊騎兵Delino DeShields Jr.(2A)、太空人Jason Garcia(1A)、雙城J.R. Graham(2A)、紅襪Jandel Gustave(1A)、小熊Taylor Featherston(2A)、費城人Odubel Herrera(2A)、馬林魚Andrew McKirahan(2A)、大都會Sean Gilmartin(3A)、勇士Daniel Winkler(2A)、水手David Rollins(2A)、金鶯Logan Verrett(3A)。

共有17支球團沒有指名選手，第二輪只有費城人選擇Andrew Oliver(3A)。

今年王維中登錄在釀酒人大聯盟25人名單之內，後援出賽14場自責分率10.90，明年預計會在40人大名單之中，然後在小聯盟學習如何當1名稱職的先發投手。
