素有大陸青年科技女性『諾貝爾獎』之稱的『大陸青年女科學家獎』近日揭曉，華南農業大學教授廖紅當選第十一屆『大陸青年女科學家』。

根據深圳特區報導，『大陸青年女科學家獎』由大陸婦聯、大陸科協、大陸聯合國教科文組織全國委員會等共同設立，為表彰獎勵在基礎科學與生命領域取得重大和創新性成果的青年女性科技工作者，每年評選一次，一次不超過10名。

據悉，第十一屆大陸青年女科學家獎共有111個單位和22名專家推薦、提名有效候選人183人，入選者10名。廖紅和團隊在大陸率先開闢了根係生物學研究方向，並運用於作物養分高效根係遺傳改良。多年來，在根構型定量分析及三維重建、磷效率遺傳改良、豆科作物養分高效管理等方面取得了重要成果。
