「紐約時報」（New YorkTimes）今天公布，第3季虧損較上年同期縮減，同時也力讚數位新聞營運轉型的進展。

紐時第3季虧損1250萬美元，較上年同期虧損2420萬美元收斂。營收則微幅成長1%，來到2.067億美元。

紐時總裁兼執行長湯普森（Mark Thompson）表示：「我們的第3季表現比我們預期的還好，反映廣泛的數位實力不僅抵銷紙本營收衰退，也帶動整體營收成長1%。」

「數位廣告營收連3季正成長，較上年同期成長近17%，傳統紙本廣告營收9月也上揚。」

紐時表示，數位訂戶淨增4萬4000戶，較上年同期成長20% 。第3季部分虧損來自裁汰約百名編輯人員的資遣費用攀升。

財務長佛羅（Jim Follo）指出，廣告和消費者方面強勁的數位成長有助抵銷裁員墊高的費用。

研究公司Outsell媒體分析師達克特（Ken Doctor）表示，紐時的財報顯示數位轉型有成。（譯者：中央社劉淑琴）1031031
