81歲的他終圓夢　切除下體變成女人

81歲的蘿絲是目前全英國最老的變性人，他最近終於完成9歲以來的夢想。
 
英國《鏡報》報導，英國「國民保健服務」(NHS)在7月通過蘿絲變性手術費用申請，讓他能夠切除陰莖，另外打造女性性徵，使外表與生理如一，變為一個完完全全的女人。
 
他向記者說道「我一直住在錯的身體裡」，而手術成功後，蘿絲表示一點都不後悔，「我還覺得胸部做太小了」。蘿絲離婚前生了3個孩子，目前更當上爺爺。他說在9歲時，就一直覺得自己是個女生。「是醫生鼓勵我踏出這一步，他希望我接受手術完成夢想」。
 
過去當爸爸的時候，蘿絲會打扮得漂漂亮亮出門，但回到家就得變成男人，穿著男性衣服，扮演爸爸的腳色。他稱有許多人因為苦候接受變性手術而自殺，「幫我動手術的醫師表示，他們救了好幾百條生命，阻止他們想不開輕生」。
 
雖然手術過程十分痛苦，還要歷經六至八周復原，但蘿絲表示對結果十分滿意，很開心能變成真正的女人。（余浚安／綜合外電報導）
