『杭州半山的狗狗收容所，城管送去一隻母狗和一窩小狗，沒想到，收容所的飼養員，當著母狗的面，把小狗一隻隻給摔死！還沒睜開眼的小東西，當著它媽媽的面就這樣死掉了……』網友『八月餵餵羊』的這條微博引起了關注。

根據新華網報導，杭州市城管委回應：事情的確有，但這窩小狗和這隻母狗本來就是要在杭州市犬類收容中心被處死的。只是該工作人員貪圖方便，違規操作。另外，該工作人員目前已經被調離崗位，扣罰獎金，而當事收容中心負責人被處嚴重警告處分。
