英首位女探險家　單車橫越南極

【周佩萱╱綜合外電報導】現年35歲的瑪麗亞萊澤斯坦(Maria Leijerstam)，來自英國威爾斯格拉摩根谷，成功打敗另外2位男性對手，成為首位騎單車穿越南極的女性極限探險家。
 
萊澤斯坦在冰天雪地中，費時10天騎完約805公里的路程，比預計的12天還要提早完成，萊澤斯坦表示天氣冷到腳汗都結凍，帶著45公斤的食物和裝備，16日從俄國諾夫空軍基地出發，萊澤斯坦選擇騎三輪單車，每天騎上18小時，接著休息兩三個小時，以加熱乾燥食物果腹。

萊澤斯坦的媽媽表示女兒之所以能成功，是因為事前嚴格訓練和縝密計畫，以及女兒鋼鐵般的意志力。
