世界衛生組織（WHO）統計，截至14日為止，通報的確診、疑似與可能的伊波拉病例累計達到9216例，並奪走4555條人命。好消息是塞內加爾正式脫離疫區。

世衛組織統計，截至14日為止，包括最為嚴重的幾內亞、賴比瑞亞、獅子山共和國，以及塞內加爾、奈及利亞、西班牙與美國7個已經發現伊波拉病例的國家中，通報的確診、疑似與可能病例累計達到9216例，並已經造成4555人死亡。

雖然疫情有從西非地區向外擴散的跡象，但好消息是，塞內加爾因為已經連續42天未再出現新的感染病例，世衛組織今天正式宣布塞內加爾脫離疫區。

8月29日，一名透過陸路從幾內亞前往塞內加爾的年輕男性發病，塞內加爾政府立刻將這名病患隔離，並嚴密監控與他曾經有過接觸的74人，所幸這74人並未感染。(中央社)
