熱身時狀況不好，但是一上場，面對全大聯盟最會打全壘打的球隊，Shelby Miller投出一場 3安打完封，紅雀 5比 0擊敗藍鳥。

「在牛棚熱身時，我的感覺一點都不好，」Shelby Miller賽後說，「但比賽就是這麼瘋狂，我還是有點說不出話來，可以辦到真的很有趣。」

在Shelby Miller的壓制下，藍鳥一直到第六局都無安打，最後當然是完敗，中止了最近的6連勝。

Randal Grichuk也打出職業生涯第一支全壘打，紅雀近11場比賽只贏 3場而已。

「希望這場勝利能帶動球隊的氣勢。」Shelby Miller全場投出5次三振，一上來就連續解決13名打者，一直到第五局，才對Adam Lind投出整場比賽唯一一次保送。

之前 3次先發，Shelby Miller至少都丟掉4分，但是對上強打的藍鳥，他投出生涯第二場完投勝，另一場是在2013年5月10日，當時他只讓落磯首局首名打者打出安打，接下來連續解決27名打者 。
