為何DUCATI 要而日系車大都不用換正時皮帶?

前陣子跟車友出遊,突然中了DUCATI車的毒,
車型是M796,回來之後當然立刻上網做功課想多了解這部車,也幻想有天能入手,
結果查著查著,突然發現原來DUCATI的車每二萬公里就得回原廠換一次正時皮帶及相關耗材,
頓時整個愛上DUCATI車的熱情就冷卻了,
自己曾擁有過兩台日系重車(CB400跟ER6F),從沒聽說這些車需要換這東西,
似乎也沒聽過日系車需要做此保養,
到底是日系車也要換正時皮帶只是大家都疏乎了,還是真的只有DUCATI車有此設計,
若是後者,為何DUCATI車要這樣設計呢?有何好處?
