Windows 8用戶現在又多了一個應用下載選擇。 Facebook官方應用17日正式登陸Windows 8平台。同樣是在17日，微軟為Windows 8用戶放出了免費的Windows 8.1更新。

根據36氪報導，和其他平台上的Facebook應用類似，Windows 8平台上的Facebook應用含有照片、狀態更新、聊天、通知和簽到等功能。此外，它還有一個名為Charm Share的功能，允許用戶自動將正在瀏覽的照片以附件的形式添加到郵件裡。

今(2013)年6 份，微軟就曾確認Facebook應用將很快登陸Windows 8平台。17日Facebook for Windows 8的發布也算是微軟履行了當時所作的承諾。目前，Windows 8平台已經有Twitter應用。微軟此前也曾表示，很多其他的社交類應用也將會登陸Windows 8平台，包括Flipboard等。
