Foxconn Electronics (Hon Hai Precision Industry) is showcasing its new FoxKPC series products through a subsidiary at KE Show 2013 in Kunshan, China. The FoxKPC product line will mainly focus on the industrial control application market, a segment in where the company currently has no clients.
FoxKPC brand products cover screen sizes from 10.1- to 19-inch and use Intel Atom or ARM-based processors. The company is pushing its design flexibility as well as customization based on client demand as the major selling points for its product line.
Although FoxKPC is a latecomer to the industrial control application market, since the company has advantages in terms of product quality and component prices, and is able to offer products at prices 60-70% those of competitors, distributors are optimistic about FoxKPC's performance in the future.
Although Foxconn already has a subsidiary handling industrial PC-related products such as point of sales (POS), kiosk and ATM, the two companies will focus on two completely different industries and therefore are unlikely to have any conflict in business, and may even form cooperation in the future.
