《Market Watch》報導，瑞士央行意外宣佈降息，並取消歐元兌瑞士法郎匯率限制，企業界指瑞士央行此舉等同引發經濟海嘯。

瑞銀集團投資長 Mark Haefele 表示，此舉完全出乎市場意料之外，導致瑞士法郎匯率飆漲，瑞士經濟發展將因此蒙受負面影響，CPI可能衰退 0.9%。此舉更直接影響瑞士出口業者，規模可能高達 50 億瑞士法郎。

分析師指出，如果瑞士央行此一政策延續下去，未來數年之內瑞士經濟可能難有起色。出口業者將失去價格優勢，製造業成本大增可能外移，旅遊業與貿易更會因貨幣大幅升值而損失慘重。

瑞士 Swatch 集團執行長更表示，瑞士央行此一政策將引發經濟海嘯，未來出口業、旅遊業都可能衰退，最後整個國家經濟都可能被拖垮。
