中華民國駐新加坡代表處今天舉行國慶酒會，駐星代表謝發達致詞表示，中華民國將持續提倡民主，因此對於香港人民要求普選，完全能予理解，並且支持。

他並說，中華民國政府以「九二共識、一中各表」為基礎，積極改善兩岸關係。

在兩岸關係上，謝發達指出，總統馬英九自2008年上任以來，推動在中華民國憲法架構下，維持台海「不統、不獨、不武」現狀的兩岸政策。

他說，馬總統除營造和平的兩岸關係外，更致力於區域的和平穩定。針對釣魚台列嶼問題於2012年提出「東海和平倡議」，呼籲相關各方擱置爭議，遵守國際法，以和平方式處理爭端，研訂「東海行為準則」，共同合作開發東海資源。

謝發達說，中華民國也將提倡傳統文化、經濟成長以及區域之和平與穩定。

他指出，為表彰馬總統提出東海和平倡議對東亞區域和平與穩定的貢獻，美國前總統艾森豪於1956年所創立的國際國民外交協會，於9月特別授予馬總統艾森豪和平獎。

今天是中華民國103年國慶，包括星國僑界、媒體、學術、企業界約百餘人出席國慶酒會。(中央社)
