（中央社華盛頓29日綜合外電報導）白宮發言人厄尼思特（Josh Earnest）今天表示，美國政府密切留意香港民主抗議活動；並說，美方支持「香港人民的願望」。

厄尼思特說：「美國支持香港依據基本法實施普選，我們支持香港人民的願望。」

他在每日簡報中說：「我們認為，一旦基本法有關普選行政長官的終極目標實現，將大幅強化行政長官的基本正當性。」1030930
