面對近來交手總吞敗的中國大陸，中華男網無法突破連敗窘境，團體賽八強以1比2敗下陣來，宣告衛冕夢碎。

在台維斯盃交戰史上，中華隊自2007年擊敗中國後，之後的交手都吞下敗仗，跟著在2011年、2012年以及2013年都吃下敗仗。

這次亞運交手，陣中有當年擊敗中國的盧彥勳、王宇佐、陳迪，不過扛第一點的單打王宇佐，先以2-6、4-6敗給吳迪，盧彥勳以7-6(4)、6-4扳回一城，勝敗關鍵落在雙打。

扛第三點的陳迪與彭賢尹，勝利依舊未能開胡，以6-2、3-6、0-6不敵公茂鑫與李喆，宣告無緣衛冕。
