水手「國王」Felix Hernandez面對天使之戰，在第5局發給天使菜鳥Shawn O’Malley一張老K，飆出本季第233K，寫下生涯新高，先發7局沒有丟分，率軍終場以3比1贏球。

Hernandez全場飆11次三振，本季累積236K，刷新自己原先在2010年的記錄（232K），接下來10場比賽，還有機會推進記錄。

這一戰國王耗97球、68球好球，僅被敲3支安打，不過退場時雙方仍以0比0平手，此役無關勝敗，防禦率下修至2.07。


雙方都在第9局才開啓一波攻勢，水手6名人次輪番上陣，繳出3安，其中Logan Morrison扛出3分砲，突破平手僵局，下半局天使Hank Conger開轟回敬，但是支低傷害的陽春砲，最終天使以2分之差輸球。

另一方面，運動家對遊騎兵以2比7輸球，跌落美聯外卡首位，和位居外卡第3的水手僅剩1場勝差。
