前副總統呂秀蓮18日南下高雄尋求議會民進黨團支持「和平中立保台灣」行動，盼完成階段性連署於2016年進行公投。

呂秀蓮先拜會國際獅子會全國總會長黃明聰先生，希望共同推動台灣和平中立，她也邀請各位獅友參加10月6日國際和平大使團成立大會。

接著呂秀蓮拜訪高市議會民進黨團，傳達積極推動「東方瑞士美麗島‧和平中立保台灣」，並遊說支持。她說，結合世界台商會在10月6日齊聚高雄成立國際和平大使團響應台灣和平活動，要引領台灣向世界發聲，宣示台灣要成為東方的瑞士。

她表示，永久中立可以成為台灣與國際社會的最大公約數，也能成為台灣朝野內部的共同目標。

呂秀蓮隨即拿出連署書請民進黨黨團連署支持，她表示推動和平中立計畫已向民進黨中央報告了，她盼今年底連署10萬份，明年中第二階段達到連署百萬份門檻，盼於2016年一併公投展現民意。
