（中央社倫敦18日綜合外電報導）蘇格蘭今天展開獨立公投後，網球明星莫瑞（Andy Murray）終於在最後一刻打破沈默，似乎表態支持蘇格蘭脫離英國獨立，吸引英國媒體大幅報導。

莫瑞在推特帳戶發文告訴271萬追蹤者：「今天是蘇格蘭的大日子！反對獨立陣營近幾天進行負面宣傳，讓我對這件事情的看法全然改觀。十分興奮期待看到結果。就讓我們這麼做！」

莫瑞最後的呼聲似乎呼應獨派領袖薩孟德（AlexSalmond）的號召。薩孟德昨天在伯斯的最後一場造勢演說中激昂表示：「別讓他們告訴我們，我們做不到。現在就讓我們這麼做。」

莫瑞的推文被轉推超過1萬4000次，轉推者包括現為蘇格蘭首席大臣的薩孟德（Alex Salmond），而且成為英國各媒體網站爭相報導的大新聞。

27歲的莫瑞生於蘇格蘭的格拉斯哥（Glasgow），是英國網壇一哥，去年曾在溫布頓錦標賽封王。他不住在蘇格蘭，因此無法投票。

儘管如此，身為英國最知名運動員之一，他表態支持贊成獨立陣營，對希望終結與英國307年聯合關係的獨派是一大助力。
