撞聯結車毀損太魯閣號　砸2.3億還魂

台鐵太魯閣號278次2012年在埔心平交道撞上闖入平交道的聯結車，造成1死24傷，首節駕駛艙和車相撞爛全毀，歷經2年，台鐵耗資2.3億元，將讓該太魯閣號「浴火重生」，以協調日本重新開模，再打造車頭等首節車廂車殼，並採購相關零件，預計9月1日中午抵台，台鐵表示，該日方將太魯閣號車殼和零件運送來台後，將在台灣組裝，預計明年4月可再上路飆駛載客，東部運能將可再提升，台鐵也擬規劃該2.3億元將向肇事者求償。
 
台鐵新聞聯絡人翁惠平也已將太魯閣號浴火重生並即將抵台等資訊PO上臉書(https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=705677422812694&id=100001113297090)，引來不少網友熱烈討論，直呼「終於要回家囉」，「期待、感動」，「太棒了、浴火重生」。
