中信兄弟27日晚在台中洲際球場迎戰統一獅，寇迪對決馬帝斯，統一獅近況不理想，目前戰績14勝19敗，已掉落到最後一名，而且近10戰2勝8敗，獅隊必須趕快振作起來，否則會離下半季冠軍愈來愈遠。

獅隊先發投手馬帝斯本季戰績6勝5敗、防禦率3.25，對兄弟戰績2勝1敗、防禦率2.89；兄弟陣中，陳江和、王勝偉對馬帝斯打擊都有不錯表現。

而兄弟要拚下半季冠軍，進入關鍵期，因為義大犀牛也打上來了。寇迪目前戰績雖是2勝1敗、防禦率2.34，對獅隊則是1勝1敗、防禦率2.57；寇迪近來表現愈來愈穩定，近2戰投15局只有1分責失，若寇迪能持續維持這樣的水準，獅隊想要突破他的球路威力並不容易。獅隊陣中以涂壯勳對寇迪表現最佳，3打數都是安打。
