（中央社巴黎21日綜合外電報導）許多國家禁止利用醫療幫助自殺， 不過1項研究調查今天指出，2012年共有172名「自殺遊客」來到瑞士，尋求在醫藥協助下自殺，人數比2009年倍增。

自殺遊客群主要來自德國和英國，絕大部分想自殺的原因是罹患神經性疾病，例如癱瘓、運動神經元病、帕金森氏症和多發性硬化症等。

根據「醫學倫理期刊」（Journal of MedicalEthics）線上刊載的這項研究，瑞士有四個主張人有決定死亡權的組織，允許其他國家的人使用他們的自殺服務。

記錄顯示，從2008年到2012年，有611位來自31個國家的人，以「自殺遊客」身分來到瑞士。這些遊客中除了4人外，全都造訪了人性尊嚴診所。

這些自殺遊客最後大都由俗稱「安寧藥丸」（peaceful pill）的戊巴比妥鈉鹽（SodiumPentobarbital），導致死亡。

即便尋死者患有嚴重又無法醫治的疾病，大部分國家仍把協助他人結束生命視為犯罪。僅少數國家有管制協助自殺或是安樂死。
