根據美國科技新聞網站Re/code報導，蘋果（Apple）預備9月9日發表iPhone 6。9月9日是9月第2個星期二，蘋果可先前發表iPhone 5s、5c也是在9月的第2個星期二。
 
包括Cnet等多家美國媒體引用Re/code上述報導，認為該報導對於蘋果發布iPhone 6預測準確。產業分析師指出，蘋果9月發表iPhone 6時間推算合理，有利趕上年底銷售旺季。
